Building More Than Musicians!

The Music Academy of Western North Carolina has establsihed a Scholarship Fund for students in need of financial assistance.  Private lesson scholarhip recipiants must fulfill their responsibilities to the Music Academy as well as volunteer a minimum of two hours per month at a local non-profit of their choice as part of their service project obligations.

Ensemble scholarship recipients must also fulfill their responsibilities to the Music Academy as well as perform at various events throughout the year.  The goal of the Music Academy Scholarship Program is to not only train up good musicians but to mold a responsible young adult through character and leadership development while instilling a sense of giving back to ones community through service-related projects.

Some of the Henderson County Non-Profits our students might be interested in volunteering for include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Children & Family Resource Center of Henderson County
  • INTERFAITH Assistance Ministry
  • Hendersonville Rescue Mission
  • Council On Aging of Henderson County
  • Henderson County Humane Society
  • Henderson County Young Leaders Program
  • Team ECCO, Ocean Center & Aquarium

All Music Academy Scholarship recipients must abide by the volunteer requirements of their selected non-profit as part of our Scholarship Program and have a “Volunteer Verification Form” signed by their non-profit volunteer representative for scholarship funding to be released for the upcoming month.

The Music Academy Scholarship Fund is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the purposes of the Music Academy Scholarship Fund must be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.  For more information on donating to our Scholarship Fund, please click HERE.  In appreciation for the contributions we receive from individuals and businesses, all donors (unless otherwise requested), will receive special recognition with their name or company logo placed underneath the appropriate donation tier on our Scholarship Sponsors Page to identify them as a Music Academy scholarship sponsor.
