ALLMAN BROTHERS SCORE THEIR ONLY #1 ALBUM: On this day (September 8th) in 1973, the Allman Brothers started a five week run at #1 on the US album chart with ‘Brothers And Sisters’, the group’s only #1 album in the United States. It would sell more than seven million copies worldwide and produce the single “Ramblin’ Man,” the band’s first and only hit single that peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1973.
