Elizabeth Terry

Elizabeth Terry – Brio Strings Ensemble Director (Faculty Member Since 2018): Elizabeth Terry has been teaching and playing in the WNC area since 1994, and is currently the Orchestra Director at Koontz Intermediate, Valley Springs Middle, and TC Roberson High Schools in South Asheville. Elizabeth loves working with middle and high school aged musicians, and has worked in public education as an Orchestra director since 2006. Before she began working with student ensembles, Elizabeth maintained a large private Suzuki violin and viola studio in Asheville. As an active performer, Elizabeth plays violin with the Café String Quartet, Hendersonville Symphony, Brevard Philharmonic, Asheville Lyric Opera, as well as many other local ensembles. Elizabeth also plays swing and jazz fiddle and has performed with numerous local ensembles on fiddle as well as played for contra dances in the WNC region. Elizabeth studied violin at UNC Greensboro and jazz studies at UNC Asheville, and hold a BA in Music from UNCA.
