The Music Academy of WNC Folk Music Program features instruction on a variety of instruments within folk and Americana musical genres including: folk guitar; mandolin; banjo; harmonica; and voice.  This program will also provide songwriting instruction for those interested in learning how to develop their creativity and acquire knowledge about the songwriting process.  The goal of the Folk Music Program is to perpetuate the American folk tradition within a variety of folk genres while also fostering the renaissance of contemporary American folk music within aspiring musicians of all ages.  Through experienced instruction and performance, the Folk Music Program will seek to provide students with the knowledge and skills of performing authentic, American folk music.
