Leigha Turner

Leigha Turner – Woodwinds (Faculty Member Since 2022): Leigha Turner is a University of Georgia music education graduate from Greenville, South Carolina, where she graduated from the Fine Arts Center and Travelers Rest High School. She studied privately on saxophone in high school with Mary AllyeB Purtle and chamber music with Dr. Gary Robinson for four years. She has attended the Brevard Music Center Summer Festival and studied with Professor Joe Lulloff and Dr. Henning Schröder. She has also performed in a masterclass for Chien-Kwan Lin. While at UGA, Leigha has performed with the Hodgson Wind Ensemble, the Wind Symphony, and Rush Saxophone Quartet. In her second year at UGA, she formed the Avante Quartet – a mixed chamber ensemble with flute, cello, violin and saxophone.
