Melanye Crayton

Melanye Crayton – Piano and Choral Studies (Faculty Member Since 2019):   Melanye has been teaching piano since 2000. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Liberty University where she studied piano and voice under the instruction of David Herman. Melanye has a passion for music education, specifically for fostering a love for music in all of her students.  She has taught students in all age ranges, from five years old to retirees.  Melanye holds professional memberships in the North Carolina Music Educators Association (NCMEA) and the National Association for Music Education (NAFME).  She is a licensed K-12 teacher in the State of North Carolina.  Melanye has worked as the Fine Arts Director at High Point Christian Academy in High Point, NC and is currently an Elementary Music Specialist with the Buncombe County School System.   In addition to her private piano studio, Melanye also directs our choral programs here at the Music Academy of WNC.

Melanye is a resident of Asheville, North Carolina, where she lives with her husband and dog. She loves music, traveling, and running.
