Sophia Kilpatrick

Sophia Kilpatrick – Voice & Piano (Faculty Member Since 2025): Sophia graduated from East Carolina University with a BA degree in Music Therapy. Her primary focus was on voice and her secondary instrument was piano. She has performed nationally and internationally with multiple ensembles and choral groups including the ECU Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. James Franklin. She teaches a wide variety of genres including jazz, classical, musical theater, pop, country, r&b, contemporary worship, and folk. Sophia has been teaching private voice lessons since 2015. Her passion is helping singers to find their own unique sound and strengthen their voice in the healthiest and most enjoyable way possible. Her degree in Music Therapy has enabled her to work with students from a variety of backgrounds, helping them to achieve their goals with a stress-free and engaging approach to learning to sing and play music.

Sophia lives in Flat Rock with her husband and two dogs. When she isn’t in the music studio or singing to her music therapy clients, she can be found cooking, making soap, whistling, or reading.
