2024 Fall Semester Beginning Strings Class

12-Week Beginning Strings Classes For 3rd-5th Grade Students

The 12-Week, Beginning Strings Classes for 3rd-5th grade students are designed to give students an extra-curricular music activity, expose them to the orchestral string instruments,  and  better prepare them to participate in a vast array of string ensemble and orchestra programs throughout Henderson County. Students can choose to study the violin, viola, or cello.  Please register below.

Steps In Preparing For The Beginning Strings Classes

  1. Complete the registration form below.  Please select the desired class and instrument and pay the tuition.  Music-related class materials are included in the final tuition price. However, students should purchase a heavy-duty pocket folder, a small spiral notebook, and a pencil to bring to class.
  2. INSTRUMENT RENTAL:  If you need to rent an instrument for the duration of the 12-week  class, we will be happy to assist you in selecting the right size instrument for your child.  Instruments can be rented through the Music Academy by clicking HERE. Please have your child’s instrument size determined prior to renting your instrument.  We can help you with this.  Just click HERE or call Emily Vaughn at 828-693-3726, ext. 2 to set up an appointment. Please do not purchase a colorful plastic instrument or purchase from Amazon. No matter how inexpensive or pretty it is it will not tune or play well and you may end up having to spend much more.
  3. Please bring your instrument, bow, and all class materials to each class.
