Drew Spencer – Guitar & Bass (Faculty Member Since 2024):  Drew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Music from the University of South Carolina Upstate and has taught private lessons since 2014. He founded the five-piece band Buck Shoals as a singer, lead guitarist, and songwriter. In 2018, he accepted an offer to become the lead guitarist for the platinum-selling rock group Blackfoot. Drew toured the U.S. and recorded with the group for two years, sharing stages with acts such as Winger, The Marshall Tucker Band, Accept, Molly Hatchet, Quiet Riot, and Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame inductee Artimus Pyle.

He decided to leave Blackfoot after his son was born to spend more time with family. He continues to perform shows locally with various upstate South Carolina musicians. His playing style for electric guitar features rock, blues, and jazz influences such as Duane Allman, Wes Montgomery, and Derek Trucks. His playing style for the acoustic guitar differs from the electric, leaning more toward the bluegrass and folk styles of Doc Watson, James Taylor, and Jason Isbell. Drew is a proficient slide guitar player on both electric and acoustic.
