Tracey Mumford

Tracey Mumford –  Strings Ensemble Conductor (Faculty Member Since 2023):  Tracey Mumford holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music in violin performance.  She continued her studies in Paris, France focusing on contemporary violin repertoire and teaching. As an orchestral violinist, she has performed with ensembles throughout Europe and the U.S. and enjoyed a long tenure with the Dallas Opera Orchestra, the Dallas Bach Society, and the Fine Arts Chamber Players.

Tracey is passionate about arts in education, and through the Fine Arts Chamber Players, created musical outreach programs that served the Dallas Independent School District and Head Start centers for over a decade. As a National Board Certified Teacher, Tracey currently directs the orchestra program in the North Buncombe School District.

Having grown up in East Tennessee and Texas playing fiddle and guitar, Tracey’s musical interests are varied and extend beyond her classical training to include bluegrass and folk traditions. She is very happy to have moved back to the mountains of her youth and lives with her family in Hendersonville.
